Megaloceros Metatarsal bone from a Baby animal

Here is a metatarsal bone from the giant deer Megaloceros. It dates from the Pleistocene sediments of Stockstadt near Darmstadt in Germany.

The bone is from a baby - what makes it  quite special. Baby bones of this animal are rarely found and highly sought after.

The fossil is unbroken and in good condition. The length of the bone is about 27 cm.

Rarity without any manipulations.
