Here we offer you an absolute super-rarity for sale!
It is the lower jaw bone of a middle triassic age ichthyosaur. The fossil comes from the upper Muschelkalk - Dorsoplanus layers - from Faulquemont in France.
Bones of Ichthyosaurs are among the absolute top rarities in Muschelkalk, and even in museums there are only a few finds of this kind.
The piece is the more intricate end of the mandibula. For illustrative purposes, we have added two images of an ichthyosaurus skull from the lower jurassic in which the bone was marked. This skull is NOT for sale here.
Please excuse the dark spots on the pictures, unfortunately at the time of the shooting was a camera error.
The fossil measures approximately 20.5 cm. The stone was once broken and has been glued professionally, it measures about 27 x 16 cm.
No manipulations at all!
