This is the left side femur bone of the wild horse Equus. It was found in the pleistocene age sediments of the river Rhine in Germany. The location is Stockstadt near Rhine.
The fossil is unbroken and measures about 40 cm in length. It is massive, solid and heavily mineralized.
Perfectly preserved fossil with no manipulations at all!
The genus Equus originally came from North America. But all the horse species of the american continent extinct about 10.000 years ago.
