This polished amber comes from the Cretaceous deposits of Burma. This is why it is also called ´Burmite´. What is interesting about tis amber and especially its inclusions is its high age. Compared to other sites - for example the Dominican Republic one´s - this amber is much older and interestingly coincides with the time of the dinosaurs! Gerenrally most of the inclusions in amber are insects because they were unable to escape the sticky tree resin and were therefore permanently preserved. Inclusions of larger animals such as reptiles are absolute rarities - which makes the exhibit offered here even more remarkable. It contains a clearly visible reptile tail. Maybe it was a little dinosaur? The stone is clear and you can easily examine the tail from all sides. The amber is unbroken and all sides are polished, it measures approximately 21 x 18 x 9 mm. The tail measures approximately 29 mm. Rare and interesting collector's item and an enrichment for any collection.
