Hippopothamus antiquus molar

This molar of Hippopothamus antiquus comes from the Pleistocene sediments of 
Lampertheim in Germany.

The fossil is unbroken and measures about 6,5 x 6,5 x 6 cm.
It has been conserved and is now stable and massive.

Hippopotamus fossils are rarities and much sought after by collectors and museums.
