This upper jaw piece of the cave lion - Panthera leo spelaea - comes from the Pleistocene deposits of a
gravel pit (Waldsee) near Mannheim in Germany.
You can clearly see the large fang with root and two other alveoli.
The fossil is completely preserved and unbroken, it measures about 9 x 6 x 3 cm.
Fossils of cave lions are rarely found and are very popular with collectors and museums.
Rarity without any manipulations.
