These two pieces of amber come from a gravel quarry near Grubach at Golling, about 30 kilometres south of Salzburg in Austria
The age of these finds is almost comparable to the famous Lebanon amber, they come from the so-called "Rossfeldschicht" - older Lower Cretaceous (Obervalendis to deep apt).
These ambers are extremely rare - have always been - and the site has been declared an absolute nature reserve (with guard).
We had only 4 of these pieces - all from an old collection.
