This horse skull comes from the Pleistocene aged sediments of the San River (Premysl region) in Poland. It is the skull of a stallion (male individual). The fossil is perfectly preserved, it is unbroken and has no additions whatsoever. The length of the skull is about 46 cm. The entire molar dentition is completely preserved. Interesting: The first left side molar is pathologically deformed and unusually deeply chewed in comparison with all the other teeth. The back of the head is open which allows an interesting view into the inside of the skull. This allows to see and study the interesting brain impressions on the bones. Great museum quality piece - no manipulations at all!
