This is a rare ray fossil Janassa bituminosa from the permian alyers (so called Kupferschiefer)
It was found in Sangershausen, "Mansfelder Revier" in Germany.
The slab is unbroken, it measures about 23 x 12 x 1.5 cm. The fish is about 20 cm in size.
The interesting teeth of this animal are spectacularly well preserved!
Fossil finds of this species are extremely rare in the layers of Kupferschiefer and every collector
is happy about such a rarity.
