Cyclurus, Messel pit

This "mudfish" Cyclurus comes from the Eocene deposits of the Messel pit in Germany.

The exhibit was permanently preserved using the plastic transfer method.

The fish measures approximately 17 cm. The skull is beautifully raised.

The matrix measures approximately 23 x 15 cm. A hanger is attached.

Extinct classic site.
