Products description

This predatory fish of the genus Tristichopterus comes from the Middle Devonian of the Orkney Islands
of Scotland. These fish from the class of "flesh-finned fish" are among the rarest fossils that can be
found in the Devonian region of Orkney. They are absolute rarities that seldom offered for sale.
The piece comes from an old collection.

The fish is completely preserved and measures about 25 cm. The plate measures approximately
34 x 21 x 1.5 cm.

It is not a split fossil, which means the piece was carefully prepared.

The stone was broken and was professionally glued - no additions to the fossil!
For better contrast, the fossil was given a thin, colorless varnish, which can be easily removed
with acetone if desired.

Rarity!
