This is a slightly displaced skull of Gnadonoston latirostre. The piece comes from the Permian layers (Rotliegenes, Schwarzpelit Bank) of Pfarrwald, Heimkirchen in Germany. The skull measures approximately 6.5 cm. The stone was once broken and measures approximately 12 x 9 x 1.5 cm. The piece was elaborately prepared and the bones are beautifully preserved in three dimensions and even teeth are visible. The discovery area has been under strict protection since 1986, and no new finds from there come onto the market. This piece comes from an old collection. Fossils of this species are hard to find and are rarely available for purchase, don't miss it!
