This is a partial skeleton of a pterodactyl Pterodactylus kochi. The find comes from the Upper Jurassic
of Eichstaett in Germany (world famous Solnhofen-region).
Finds of fossil reptiles - especially those of pterosaurs - are extremely rare in the German limestone
and therefore highly sought after by collectors and museums.
The exhibit offered here shows the lower half of a juvenile pterodactyl animal with the feet, legs, the
pelvic region, the thorax with spine and ribs and both wing tips.
Interesting: The piece has soft tissue preservation, the body outline is clearly raised in the abdominal
region.
The fossil measures approximately 5.7 x 2.4 cm. The stone is unbroken with a size of approximately
20 x 17 x 1 cm.
This piece is a rarely offered top rarity!
