Products description

This partial bird skeleton Messelornis cristata comes from the Eocene deposits of the world-famous Messel pit in Germany.
Fossils of this location are very popular collector's items. The site has not been accessible for many
years.
This piece comes from an old collection, it was found in the 1970s.

As is usual with Messel fossils, this exhibit was prepared using the so-called synthetic resin transfer
method. This is the only way to preserve such fossuls permanently.

The Messel Pit is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and new finds have not come onto the market for decades.

You can see the two legs, the sacral area and a piece of the spine. Nothing was added or added -
honest piece!

The plate is unbroken and measures approximately 16.5 x 9.5 x 0.8 cm.

There is a hanger on the back (could be removed easily)
