This is the fossilized skull of a Lebachacanthus shark. The fossil comes from the Permian period sediments (Niederkirchen-Schwarzpelit-Bank) of Niederkirchen/Pfalz in Germany. The teeth and the well-preserved spine are interesting and always appreciated by collectors. The plate was broken several times and measures approximately 30 x 25 x 1 cm. Shark fossils from the German Permian are rarely offered and can hardly be found on the open market. This is a rarely offered exhibit from a strictly protected location, it comes from an old collection.
