Weylandia - Devonian plant

This is the very early land plant Weylandia rhenana. The fossil comes from Middle Devonian strata 
and is a whopping 390 million years old! The fossil comes from layers of the “oldest forest in the 
world” in the Bergisches Land in Germany.

We are pleased to be able to offer a fossil from this rare plant for the first time; we have never 
had anything like this for sale before.

The stone clearly contains a trunk with several branching branches.

The piece is unbroken and measures approximately 28 x 16 cm x 5 cm.

No manipulation whatsoever!
