Cast from the skull of Sahelanthropus tschadensis, also known under the nickname "Toumai". This 7 mio. years old skull was found in July 2001 by the team around Michael Brunet in the Djurab Desert in Tschad/Central Africa and resembles the so far oldest known member of the human family. A brain volume of 320-380 cubic cm (a quarter of modern human´s size) comes along with a clearly anthropoid face shape. The typical Ape-snout is missing, the strongly featured eyebows remember of early hominids. This allows conclusions about the early epoch when Apes and hominids developed into different branches.
This cast is handcoloured and made of Epoxi. The colours may be a little differend than shown on the pictures. Because of the handcraft every cast is unique.
