Homo Erectus from Zhoukoudian, Peking, China
This is an original cast of the reconstruction of Skull XII by the German anatom Dr. Franz Weidenreich, that he made from the finds from the Zhoukoudian Cave near Peking in the year of 1936.Many fragments of various Individuals were found between 1928 and 1937 by W.C.Pei for the chinese lab for Känozoic research. These original bones were lost in the chaos of the 2nd world war, their age was estimated to 4-500.000 years. All later reconstructions of this skull are based on this original one.

This cast is handcoloured and made of Epoxi. The colours may be a little differend than shown on the pictures. Because of the handcraft every cast is unique.
