This tusk of a juvenile forest elefant (Palaeoloxodon antiquus) was found in the Eem time layers of Darmstadt, Germany. It´s about 125.000 years old
This little tooth still has a partial jawbone attached. This must have been a very young individual.
The tooth was broken and have been glued, no other manipulations.
Fossiles of Palaeoloxodon are much rarer than those of Mammoths.
