Skull fragment of Homo Neanderthalensis "Sartsedt II"
It is the original cast of Os occipitalle from Homo Neanderthalensis. The fossil was found in a gravel pit near Sarstedt / Hannover in the year 2000 by a private collector. The discovery has been combined with other skull fragments and a few stone artifacts which could be dated to the middle Paleolithic age. It shows a distinct Fossa suprainiaca (28.5 mm long and 12.89 mm high) which is typical for Neanderthals.
This cast is handcoloured and made of Epoxi. The colours might be a little differend than shown on the pictures. Because of the handcraft every cast is unique.
